...Mais la
véritable épreuve
sur le chemin de Santiago est la traversée de la «
meseta
», le vaste et désolé plateau espagnol
où les
champs de blé s'étendent à perte de
vue. « C'est
comme traverser un desert – dit Corrado -. Le soleil battant,
rendu plus
ardent dans cet espace, la chaleur, l’uniformité
du paysage, le
silence profond, sont tous les élements qui te font sentir
la route
oppressante et t'enferment dans une solitude angoissante ».
«
A ce moment là – rappelle avec émotion
Simone – fut précieuse
la rencontre avec Philippe, un jeune vietnamien que nous
avions rencontré
vers la septième étape. Ce fut un moment
particulièrement
dur. Je me sentais oppressé de fatigue, mais plus
particulièrement
par le silence. J'étais découragé, je
sentais la route
dans la tête qui m'écrasait l'âme.
Philippe, avec ses
chants a redonné de la joie à mon chemin, il m'a
aidé
à passer cette épreuve qui fut la plus dramatique
de tout

...But the real
hardship on the way to Santiago
is the crossing of the « meseta », the vast and
desolated Spanish
tableland where the wheat fields stretch to loss of eyesight.
« It's
like crossing a desert – said Corrado -. The pelting sun,
harder in this
space, the warmth, the uniformity of the landscape, the deep silence,
are
all elements which make you feel the road oppressive and shut you in an
distressing solitude ». « In this moment
– remember with emotion
Simone – was precious the meeting with Philippe, a young
vietnamese who
we have met around the seventh stage. It was a moment particularly
hard.
I felt oppressed by the tiredness, but more by the silence. I was
discouraged,
I felt the road inside my head which mashed my soul. Philippe, with his
songs gave me again happiness on my way, he helped me in to surpass
this
hardship which was the hardest part of all my pilgrimage
»…

...Ma la vera prova
lungo la via per Santiago
la si ha quando bisogna attraversare la « meseta »,
il vasto
e sfollato altipiano spagnolo dove i campi di grano si estendono
a
perdita d'occhio. « È come attraversare un deserto
– dice
Corrado -. Il sole battente, reso più rovente dai campi, la
calura,
l’uniformità del paesaggio, il silenzio profondo,
sono tutti elementi
che ti fanno sentire oppressiva la strada e ti chiudono in una
solitudine
angosciante ». « In quel momento –
ricorda emozionato Simone
– é stato prezioso l’incontro con
Philippe, un ragazzo vietnamita
che abbiamo incontrato verso la settima tappa. Era un momento
particolarmente
duro. Mi sentivo oppresso dalla fatica, ma maggiormente dal silenzio.
Ero
avvilito, sentivo la strada sopra la testa che mi schiacciava
l’anima.
Philippe, con i suoi canti ha ridato gioia al mio cammino, mi ha
aiutato
a superare questo che é stato il momento più
drammatico per
me di tutto il pellegrinaggio »…
